Canon imageCLASS printers use dozens of different toner cartridges, and they are not interchangeable. Here is how to find the right one in under a minute.
Step 1: Find your printer model
Look on the front or top of the printer, near the control panel. imageCLASS model numbers look like MF743Cdw, LBP622Cdw, MF269dw or D1520. The letters at the end matter, so copy the whole thing.
- "C" in the model (like MF743Cdw) means a colour printer that uses four cartridges: black, cyan, magenta and yellow.
- No "C" (like MF269dw) means black and white, with one black cartridge.
Step 2: Match the cartridge number
Use our ink and toner finder: find your printer and click it to see every cartridge that fits. You can also check the number printed on the cartridge you are replacing, such as Cartridge 055 or Cartridge 067H.
Step 3: Standard or high capacity?

Step 4: Do you need a drum?
Most Canon imageCLASS printers use an all-in-one cartridge with the drum built in. A few models use a separate drum:
- imageCLASS LBP113w and MF113w: Canon 047 toner and Drum 049.
- imageCLASS LBP162dw, MF264dw, MF267dw and MF269dw: Canon 051 or 051H toner and Drum 051.
On these models, replace the drum only when the printer asks for it or prints become streaky.

Common questions
Can I use a cartridge from a different series?
No. Cartridges are shaped and chipped for specific printers, so a 054 will not fit a 055 printer.
Why does my printer say toner is low when it still prints?
Canon printers warn you early. You can usually keep printing until quality fades, but it is a good time to order a replacement.
